Artist Research for Mon. Aug. 31

I know Annie Leibovitz is a photographer that is routinely talked about, but I still admire her work and the achievements that she has made in her career. I impressed by her cliental (Vogel, Vanity Fair, Louis Vuitton, Etc) and A list celebrities she has the chance to work with, but am more so impressed with her overall lighting technic. The colors she uses in her images capture me. Some how they are both colorful yet very subdued. This is possible due to the use of the beauty dishes that she employs. The beauty dish gives very even and full lighting but allow just enough shadow for sculpting the face. The full lighting allows her the ability to slightly under expose her images which allows her the subdued color pallet. Later Annie is able to saturate the color digitally allowing for a denser color.
