this piece fascinates me because it is a closed circuit. The water from the pool is sucked up to make ice which is then dropped into the shoot where it melts and once again becomes part of the pool. The water is dyed to reproduce the color of glaciers which is an amazing blue color I have never seen anywhere other than a glacier. I also find the work Finch does with the color of light very interesting. I think it is interesting that not only is he importing light from another place and time, sometimes light that he himself was never able to experience like the light Achilles saw when invading Troy, but if you look at the gels he puts on his lights you would think there is no way he could get uniform light, but he manages to. He also manages to make a beautiful colored sculpture in the process.
